Information Session for FY2027 School Wellbeing Partner (SWP) Recruitment
Published Nov 6, 2026
The Shibuya City Board of Education is announcing an information session for recruiting School Wellbeing Partners (SWP), fixed-term annual positions (kaikei nendo ninyō shokuin) for FY2027 (Reiwa 9).
What is an SWP?
The SWP is a new psychological professional position in Shibuya City. SWPs provide consultation to students, parents/guardians, and teaching staff at their assigned schools, and work at ward-run elementary and junior high schools and the Education Center. In collaboration with schools, they work to prevent school non-attendance before it occurs and to support improved school life for students with developmental characteristics. Note that in FY2027 (Reiwa 9), SWPs are planned to be assigned to junior high schools only.
Purpose of the Program
The program shifts measures against school non-attendance from the conventional "response after problems arise" to a "prevention and early detection" approach, and promotes "creating schools where children can consult with peace of mind."
Who We Are Looking For
